After a year on her own, word-of-mouth referrals and local advertising grew the business exponentially. Kristin knew she could not do it all on her own. “My start up business took off and the continued growth quickly made me realize I needed a team. The goal was to find others who had a passion for travel but who would also be committed to making sure our clients have the trip of a lifetime.” Kristin created a team solely focused on consultants who had knowledge, expertise and skill with worldwide travels. As the number of consultants grew, so did the requests and interests of the clients to have experiences beyond the beach. The expanding destinations required the creation of Fly Over Travel, to offer worldwide travel services.

The past couple of years exceeded Kristin’s and the team’s expectations! The abundance of referrals aided in the expansion of client base throughout the United States. While the agencies’ clients are heavily concentrated in the Kansas City area, Beach Happy Travel and Fly Over Travel have a presence across the country. Kristin explains, “Our business consists of five consultants, all of whom have various backgrounds, interests and have lived in various parts of the United States. This has allowed us to grow organically; between phone calls, Facetime and email, referrals and technology have made it seamless to develop beyond Kansas City.”
Beach Happy Travel and Fly Over Travel are full-service travel planning agencies, offering travel design for vacations worldwide. “You dream it and we can make it a reality” is the team slogan. The consultants plan everything from individual vacations, family vacations and group spring breaks to destination weddings, honeymoons and corporate retreats. Kristin says, “We continue to expand our knowledge of various countries and destinations and we’re perpetually learning about new excursions to showcase to our clients. FlyOver Travel by Beach Happy opened their doors over six years ago. “It started as a dream to help family and friends enjoy travel as much as I do,” said Kristin Freeman, owner and president. Being fortunate enough to travel as a child and continue her travel passion throughout adulthood, she had an extensive knowledge of destinations worldwide so wanted to share it.
“Over time I continued to expand my knowledge of the industry and participate in industry educational destination experiences, word-of-mouth referrals started calling in and we flourished,” Kristin continued. “After a year on my own I quickly realized a team was needed.”
FlyOver Travel by Beach Happy is now a team of eight travel consultants, specializing in destinations worldwide. “We have expanded outside the Kansas City metro and now have clients throughout the United States. Our goal is to curate an itinerary focused on our clients’ wants and needs, to make their travel experience exciting and carefree from the moment they walk out their door to the moment they return home. We take care of every detail,” she assured.
Travel is back! It is no secret; the travel industry has experienced a changeling couple of years. The industry is rebounding by leaps and bounds; now more than ever it is critical to have an experienced travel consultant in your corner. “As our seven-year anniversary approaches, I reflect on how far we have come. We went from a one-person shop to an agency, offering full-service travel design for destinations worldwide,” Kristin said. “Our team plans everything from individual vacations, family vacations, group spring breaks, destination weddings and corporate incentive travel. With a client base that has grown to over 5,000, we are busy and love every minute!

Beach Happy Travel began in 2016, officially opening its doors for business in March of 2017. When I initially started the company both the name and my focus of expertise was based on my love of “warm weather escapes”. After six short months our team began to expand along with the requests for additional destinations from our clients. We quickly expanded to a team of 5 agents, at that time the sister company FlyOver Travel was “born” to expand our brand to destinations outside of beach focused vacations. We are located in Leawood, KS (suburb of Kansas City), although our client base expands throughout the United States.
